Most plants prefer an irrigation water pH in the range of 6 to 7, slightly acidic to neutral.

If the pH of irrigation water is too high or too low, it can prevent adequate nutrient uptake by the roots of the plants. For example, if the pH of the water is too high, it can decrease the solubility of the nutrients such as iron, manganese and zinc, which can cause deficiencies in plants. On the other hand, if the pH is too low, it can decrease the absorption of calcium, phosphorus and other nutrients.

The use of phosphoric acid as the main ingredient in PH-Bloom is ideal for lowering the pH of water.
